The role involves managing and controlling the financial aspects of projects. The role is data driven. By extracting relevant data from various project management systems, you will be able to gain insight into project progress, resource utilisation, budget management and much more.
The role will involve financial forecasting, monitoring project costs, variance analysis, attending various meetings, assisting with various internal processes and providing regular reports to management.
Your Responsabilities
Financial planning and forecasting :
- Develop and maintain project budgets in collaboration with project managers and the accounting and finance department;
- Prepare financial forecasts and analyse variances to ensure that projects remain within budgetary constraints;
Participate in the development of project financial strategies and recommend cost reduction measures where possible.
Cost control :
- Monitor project costs and expenditure throughout the project lifecycle;
- Track expenditure, review invoices and reconcile financial variances;
Identify potential cost overruns or underspending and take corrective action where necessary.
Financial reporting :
- Prepare regular financial reports and updates for stakeholders and project management;
- Provide analysis of project financial performance, highlighting key metrics and trends;
Communicate financial position, risks and opportunities to project teams and stakeholders.
Risk management :
- Identify financial risks and potential issues that may impact project delivery;
- Work with project teams to develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans;
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Compliance, Quality and Governance :
- Ensure project financial activities comply with corporate policies, regulations and contractual agreements;
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation;
Support internal and external stakeholder audits and reviews as appropriate.
Identify, apply and evaluate quality control techniques to support quality monitoring of project processes.

Our Requirements
- Degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field;
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a project controller or in a similar project management role;
- Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies and practices;
- Mastery of financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting;
- Strong ability to extract data from multiple sources;
- Bilingualism (French and English);
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Good knowledge of the MS-Office suite, with an advanced command of Excel;
- Proficiency in MS-Project;
- Good analytical skills;
- Team player;
- Rigorous and methodical;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Effective management of deadlines;
- Ability to travel for work from time to time;
