We are now hiring a full-time Heat Treatment Specialist to work in our new state-of-the-art Oakville facility. Key Responsibilities :
Ownership of heat treatment process. Key activities include : Apply practical expertise to heat treatment processes focusing on optimization of heat treatment for additive manufacturing.
Continuous improvement in heat treatment operation through development programs to increase production throughput and minimize waste.
Fulfillment of compliance to industry and customer standards and requirements
- Maintenance of scheduling, oversight, and performance (planned / unplanned)
- Calibration (controllers, process recorders, sensors - thermal, vacuum, pressure, moisture, chromatography)
- Lead / support Nadcap, QMS & customer audits as pertained to heat treatment.
- Pyrometry review
- Daily thermal process reviews
- Maintain and order spare parts, tooling, and consumable inventories.
- Project planning (production hardware, capital hardware & installation)
- Assist in employee hiring, supervision, and scheduling.
- Training heat treatment staff to function within designed operational systems.
- Responsible for regulatory compliance such as : OHSA, ESA, TSSA, CSA
Key Requirements
- College degree or bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline and minimum 5 years of experience leading heat treatment operations
- Experience working with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience with Nadcap special process audits
- Understanding of regulatory requirements in the province of Ontario.
- Must be able to pass the Controlled Goods Act Screening.
Technical Skills
- Mechanical and electrical inclination / aptitude is an asset.
- Possess reasonable understandings of the following : Thermal control systems Sensor types and functions Processing standards (Industry and customer) PLC’s and relay logic Pressure vessels and gas trains Air compressors and delivery systems Hydraulics Plumbing Fabrication
