About Us

Wing’s is a family-owned Canadian business that was founded in Toronto in 1953 with the goal of supplying oriental noodles to Asian restaurants.

Since then, Wing’s has expanded to include a full range of ethnic products including fortune cookies, sauces, fresh and dry noodles, and wonton and egg roll wraps, supplying products to restaurants and retail stores across Canada.

The Position

Reporting to the R&D and Technical Services Manager, the Product Development Coordinator will work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the smooth development and launch of new and modified product, coordinating activities from start to finish, including :

• Preparing lab samples
• Performing product sensory and analytical analysis
• Organizing plant trials
• Documenting project progress, formulation, and outcomes
• Creating product labels including NFTs, ingredient declarations, and verifying product claims
• Managing product, packaging, and ingredient approvals
• Training Production and QA staff on new / modified products
• Performing shelf-life studies
• Creating specs and product information sheets for Customer Service and Sales staff

This individual will also be responsible for communicating test results, organizing product samples and the R&D lab, and conducting product reviews.

Qualifications

Candidates should have the following credentials and skills :

• 3-5 years related industry experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering with focus in Food Science or Food Manufacturing preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
• Food Safety, Regulatory, Internal Auditor, and Project Management certifications an asset.
