Environmental Project Manager - Mississauga

Canacre’s clients include developers, large scale utilities , and government entities that are involved in the planning and development of energy projects, rights of way, resources, and infrastructure across Canada and the United States.

Canacre works on large-scale wind and solar power projects, high-voltage transmission lines, pipeline projects, municipal roads projects, and groupings of cellular towers and rooftop antennas.

As an Environmental Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing a variety of environmental projects from inception to completion.

This role requires a strategic thinker with strong project management skills, knowledge of environmental regulations, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

In addition, your role will be to :

• Project Management : Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of environmental projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Foster Relationships : Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, regulatory authorities, and other project stakeholders to ensure project success and compliance with environmental standards.
• Team Leadership : Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
• Environmental Compliance : Stay up to date on environmental regulations and ensure that projects adhere to all applicable laws and standards.
• Risk Management : Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with environmental projects, ensuring a proactive and effective risk management approach.
• Budget Oversight : Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting.
• Reporting : Prepare and deliver project reports to clients, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field would be an asset).
• Proven experience in environmental project management (Minimum 5 years of experience).
• Knowledge of Canadian environmental regulations and standards.
• Knowledge of construction best practices and typical monitoring requirements would be an asset
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
