Legal Administrative Assistant - Employment & Labour/ Litigation
What You’ll Do
You will be the go-to person for your team who will depend on your guidance and support to keep them organized. You will be involved in a wide variety of administrative tasks, including drafting correspondence, management, and organization of documents in our document system, office and file organization, preparation of accounts, coordinating and scheduling meetings, calendar management, and leveraging technology to service clients in an efficient and effective manner.
You will also support all tasks relating to Civil Litigation procedures including drafting court documents and pleadings, motions and affidavits of service, court searches, scheduling various applications and questionings, pre-trial and trial preparation, as well as managing limitation systems.
This also includes supporting tasks related to filing with the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
What You Bring
You have established yourself as a key resource in your successful legal career. Your history includes a Legal Assistant Diploma, coupled with a minimum of five to seven years of Employment and Labour related experience including dealing with the Human Rights Tribunal, Ontario Labour Relations Board, and Employment Tribunals.
You also have strong litigation experience including knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and processes of the Superior Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada.
Knowledge of Ministry of Labour and WSIB procedures is an asset. You have strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
You are detail-oriented and can effectively meet deadlines, work well in a team setting, and provide an exceptional level of client service.
You embrace evolving technology and have strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Prior experience with Desksite, IntApp, and 3E or similar document management, file opening and accounting software required.
