Our client, a reputable Toronto firm is currently looking for a Bookkeeper / Trust Accountant. This firm has an excellent culture and many career development opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities :
- Processing of bi-weekly and monthly payrolls;
- Posting of payroll transactions to general ledger;
- Benefits administration including new hires and terminations;
- Monthly reconciliations of trust accounts General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and WIP Support;
- Monthly subledger reconciliations;
- Deposits and / or obtain certified cheques from banks;
- Process incoming and outgoing wire transfers;
- Perform cash receipt processing and analysis;
- Reconcile several firm operating bank accounts;
- Research / rectify statement errors;
- Respond to inquiries regarding firm and trust accounting guidelines;
- Prepare paperwork for funds invested in Term Deposits / GIC’s;
- Annual T4 preparations and filings;
- Additional tasks as required.
Requirements
- CGA / CPA certification;
- Three years of relevant experience, preferably in a professional or legal services firm;
- Payroll experience and knowledge of payroll compliance and processing;
- Law Firm Trust accounting experience;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel;
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment;
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills; and
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
