South Island Prosperity Partnership (SIPP) is Southern Vancouver Island’s economic development organization. Launched in 2016, SIPP has grown to an entrepreneurial, agile team of 9 who are committed to their partnership with over 70 public and private-sector members in the South Island, including 9 municipal governments, 9 First Nations, 3 post-secondary institutions, major employers, non-profits, and industry associations.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer is accountable to the Board for the overall leadership and strategic direction in support of driving economic development and prosperity in the South Island region.
The CEO, a working CEO , ensures that SIPP is positioned as a catalyst, convener, and connector to attract and evolve businesses that will contribute to the prosperity of the region.
In delivering on this mandate, the CEO will align SIPP’s activities to its key strategic pillars.
The CEO will ensure that SIPP's strategic, financial, and operating objectives are achieved in the context of stakeholders’ interests and are in accordance with policies established by the Board.
In delivering on the mandate, the CEO will be the consummate relationship builder in the community, provide leadership, vision, and direction to the small team, and create a culture that attracts, develops, and retains talent.
The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial-minded, politically savvy, big-picture business leader, who brings senior leadership experience spanning roles such as CEO, COO, VP of Business Development, or as a Senior Executive in progressive organizations.
Their expertise encompasses P&L responsibility, strategic planning, partnership cultivation, grant writing, relationship building, and government relations.
They are an out-of-the-box thinker as it relates to developing sustainable economies and are aligned with economic reconciliation objectives.
From a personal perspective, the ideal candidate is an outstanding communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills. They have a reputation for building relationships and partnerships and delivering results.
They are comfortable and relatable in any environment. Their management philosophy is centered around empowerment, engagement, and collaboration.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this role is $190,000 - $225,000.
