Senior Financial Analyst - 6 Months
Our client, in the financial services sector is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join them on a 6-month assignment.
The position will be working hybrid, 2 days on site at their offices in Oakville.
Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Analyst is as follows :
- Ensure the financial results are in compliance with IFRS and provide accurate and timely reports and analysis to Management and external stakeholders
- Prepare and review significant analyses, reports, cash flow statements, journal entries and reconciliations as part of the monthly financial reporting and review process
- Analyze significant variances, key metrics and business trends
- Assist with preparation of the quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Prepare the quarterly MD&A
- Identify and execute process improvements
- Provide recommendations on accounting treatment for transactions, business initiatives and contracts in accordance with IFRS
Requirements
- University degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation required
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant accounting / finance experience, including the preparation of financial statements
- Ability to act decisively and deal with deadlines during peak periods
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships
