Position Overview
Shipper / Receiver is responsible for all shipping and receiving duties. Given our industry, it is of upmost importance that all packages are shipped on time and in perfect condition to their destination.
It is also extremely important that incoming shipments are effectively received and distributed to staff across the company to ensure our clients can be supported fully and professionally.
This role reports to Warehouse Manager or Director of Operations.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment.
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify shipment accuracy.
- Pack, seal and label materials for shipping.
- Adhere to shipping / receiving policies / procedures, and regulatory compliance measures.
- Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and / or standards and complete appropriate documentation as required.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
- Complete daily shipping and receiving logs.
- May determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Record shipment data for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes.
- May contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
- Confer and correspond with established representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to required specifications.
- Order and store shipping supplies to maintain stock inventory.
- Maintain cleanliness in the shipping and receiving areas.
- Compute amounts, such as space available, shipping, storage, etc.
- Complete incident reports in relation to health and safety issues or material spills.
- Ensure and maintain a healthy and safe working environment at all times

Job Qualifications
- High School diploma / GED
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a shipping / receiving role or similar
- Experienced in processing courier and carrier shipments for domestic / international destinations
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs. independently
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong communication skills with other team members, site leadership team and internal and external customers
- Organizational skills with an attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task while working in a fast paced environment
- Basic computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office
- Experience using an RF based WMS system (preferred)
- Experience operating industrial forklift equipment

Work Environment
Warehouse
Work is performed at event venues as well as in a warehouse environment. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by ENCORE based in a warehouse environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.
When in the Warehouse, work will be completed in an environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and / or dust.
The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members may use high-end audio visual equipment and electrical components.
Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
