Looking for 2 support staff to support a young man who lives with Cerebral Palsy ( uses a power wheelchair) to allow him to access the community, get social, get his groceries, go to appointments etc.
this young man lives in his own apartment and has 24 / 7 support in house , but has extra funding for community inclusion, up to 6 hours a day, 7 days a week .
Hours are quite flexible, and this may suit a Mom looking for work during school hours. As well as people with some medical background , or someone who has experience with a person living with disabilities. Duties include :
personal care, planning buying and preparing for 1 meal a day plus buying and preparing ingredients for Breakfast, ( we tend to make several meals and freeze them, planning booking and attending appointments with Dr’s, seating clinic, haircuts etc.
Also riding buses ( this individual loves the bus!) going to social events and managing a dog sitting job .
Requirements, Drivers Licence , First aid certificate and Criminal Record Check. References.
Parents are involved but this young man lives in his own apartment. Training provided. The person leaving has worked with this young man for 4 years!
