At Sinai Health, we care, create possibilities and offer hope. We are looking for a Registered Nurse to support our Nursing Resource Team (NRT) at Mount Sinai Hospital.
The NRT is a new initiative created to respond to nursing staff resource requirements to support fluctuations in patient needs, replacement staffing, and bed capacity expansions associated with addressing surgical backlog and responding to the COVID- pandemic.
The NRT is an agile team dedicated to meeting the needs of nursing units across the Hospital. As part of the NRT team, Registered Nurses will receive orientation and training to support our Medicine and Surgical units.
Job Requirements
- Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- BScN (preferred)
- Current BCLS
- 1 year recent adult medical surgical nursing experience
- Sound knowledge base in : pain (PCA, epidural, CADD) and symptom management skin and wound care IV therapy / TPN / chest tube care / ostomy care
- Previous clinical experience working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses
- Commitment to professional practice and personal development
- Commitment to shared leadership and team based decision making
- Demonstrated excellent critical thinking, decision making and problem solving skills
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
