Description :

Technicalexpertise and coordination of administration monitoring managementimplementation and supportof :

  • Desktopsand network and serverenvironments
  • AmbulanceCommunication Centre (ACC) integrated 911 solutions such as CADradio phone GIS and paging within one or more assigned ACCs
  • Paramedicand Ambulance Communication Officer technical subject matterexpertise in multiple technology related projects including but notlimited to Radio Telecom Satellite Systems and Digital VoiceRecording andRetrieval
  • Executeand support 911 dispatch centres emergency COOP activationplans
  • 24 X7 onsite and remote support of all emergency 911 ambulancedispatching equipment in the province in support of the ministry scompliance and oversight of the Land AmbulanceAct
  • Coordinateadministration monitoring management implementation and support ofdesktops and server environments Ambulance Communication Centre(ACC) integrated 911 solutions such as CAD radio phone GIS andpaging within one or more assigned ACCs
  • Providerealistic work estimates to support project planning; capturebusiness requirements and update business rules based on therequirements
  • Providetechnical Paramedic and Ambulance Communication Officer subjectmatter expertise for multiple technology related projects includingbut not limited to Radio Telecom Satellite Systems and DigitalVoice Recording andRetrieval

Responsibilities :

  • Providesenior technical expertise project leadership and coordination ofactivities in the development implementation and maintenance of adiverse range of cost effective I&ITsolutions.
  • Providetechnical advice to clients and leverage Public Sector I&ITsolutions and applications to meet program / service goals andobjectives ensuringefficiency
  • Atechnical diploma or degree in electronics technology from arecognized technical institute / college with extensive knowledge andseveral years practical experience in applying theories principlesand practices of voice data radio information technology andsatellite telecommunications engineering or an equivalentcombination of education and practicalexperience.
  • Goodknowledge and experience of integrated voice and data switchingsystems computer data communications architecture radiotrunkingsystems design and P25standards.
  • Abilityto analyze results and make cost benefitanalysis.
  • Abilityto use basic Radio Frequency test equipment such as wattmetervoltmeter system monitor oranalyzer.
  • Knowledgeof basic vehicle electrical systems relative to radio installationandproblems.
  • Desktophardware components such as chips motherboards BIOS memory networkcards media interfaces printers and otherperipherals.
  • Personalcomputer technologies and operatingsystems.
  • LocalArea Network and various networktopologies / configurations.
  • Serveroperating system configurations and services and domainarchitectures such as : Windows Internet Name Service Dynamic HostConfiguration Protocol Remote Access Service Internet Protocoladdressing networking addresses printer queues and namingconventions.
  • Personalcomputer security threats andsolutions.
  • PublicSector Health Services I&IT Cluster Ministry and Branchpolicies guidelines and directives for use and support ofinformation technology and within recognized systems managementpractices and procedures to ensure compliance in all technicalsupport and services provided to theCACC.
  • Knowledgeof government Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)incident problem asset and change management practices projectmanagement and time management methodologies and clients businessprocesses and requirements to recommend technical solutions whichpromotes the Ministry IT strategies and goals while also meetingbusiness needs / priorities ofclients.
  • CACCsystems integration and interface requirements to support continuedinteroperability of all systems andservices
  • Understandingof emergency health services including ambulance communicationsoperations and practices associated standards policies andguidelines as well as interface with / delivery of other emergencycommunications services (e.

g. police fire) in order to supportcommunications and interface requirements within the context of theemergency servicesframework.

  • ITtraining techniques to participate and assist in the delivery oftraining to users and vendors and to develop trainingmaterials.
  • Systemsand business operational disciplines and processes; skills innegotiation conflict and problem resolution change management andproject coordination;

current knowledge in new technologies andtrends that may benefit emergency healthservices.

  • Currentand emerging telecommunications systems technologies includingvoice data satellite information technology and radiotelecommunication systems used in the CACC environment in order toprovide technical expertise advice and troubleshooting support forcommunications systems within the assignedCACCs.
  • Telecommunicationsinstallation configuration testing and diagnostic procedures toolsand equipment (e.g. wattmeter voltmeter tone generator GUIbased andDOS / Character based applications) and vehicle electrical systemsrelative to radio installations and problems to coordinate / performinstallations configurations testing and maintenance as an onsitetechnicalexpert.
  • Knowledgeof and can interpret and apply relevant sections of relatedlegislation (e.g. the Ambulance Act Personal Health InformationProtectionAct).
