Can-Tech Services is looking for a Process Technician for one of our reputable Manufacturing clients in the Vaughan area.

Their products are manufactured and distributed throughout Canada, the USA, and Europe, and sold throughout over 12,000 North American major retail outlets.
Position : Process Technician.
Position Type : Permanent / Full-Time.
Shift : Afternoons or Nights
Location : Vaughan, ON
Responsibilities :
- Set molds in presses and run production using pre-existing processes.
- Perform start up process as scheduled.
- Ensure all processes are running with the correct parameters.
- Ensure the machine and work area is 100% clean and organized before production is started.
- Notify shift Supervisors once the start-ups are complete and the process is running.
- Verify all water circuits before start-up process.
- Troubleshoot molding process and making basic adjustments to ensure quality and production efficiency.
- Solve quality problems and work with the quality department to identify root causes.
- Provide ideas to improve the efficiency of the molding department.
- Communicate problems, needs and important information to the shift Supervisor.
- Assist the shift supervisor as required.
- Train process technician trainees as required.
The right candidate will have / be :
- Education : Post-Secondary education or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to read and understand work orders.
- Must have excellent understanding of the injection molding machine functions.
- Must understand the fundamentals of the injection molding process.
- Capable of lifting up to 40lbs repeatedly throughout a twelve (12) hour shift.
- Able to work every other weekend and statutory holidays.
- Self-starter and able to work in an extremely fast paced environment.
- Able to perform a process from start to finish without supervision.
- Must have own tools.
- Troubleshoot problem processes as required.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and take directions.
- Must have a valid tow motor certificate before operating the tow motor (training can be provided).
- Capable of standing for long periods of time.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience setting injection molds and injection molding processing in a manufacturing environment.
- Injection molding troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge of plastic raw materials and their processing characteristics.
