The organization is a venture builder with a unique partnership structure aligning the capabilities of Limited Partners with the council from Industry Partners.

They partner with game-changing entrepreneurs and corporate innovators through their venture process to identify specific problems in the sector and create industry innovation through technology enabled business models.

These models develop transformative solutions that can be piloted locally and scaled globally to drive meaningful change in real estate.

The Toronto-based Managing Director, Capital & Corporate Development (MD, CCD) is responsible for leading the company’s efforts to identify and execute key growth initiatives for R-LABS.

These include capital raising, investments, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, co-creation Initiatives and key partnerships.

In particular, this person is responsible for capital-raising program for both R-LABS and its ventures and assisting the Partner Companies in their corporate development and capital raising needs as required.

The MD, CCD will work closely with the other R-LABS executives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify and Raise Strategic Capital for R-LABS LP
  • Identify and Raise Strategic Seed Capital for R-LABS Ventures
  • Raise Growth Capital for R-LABS Partner Companies when required
  • Identify and Manage Corporate Customers of the R-LABS Venture Co-Creation Services
  • Manage and grow R-LABS LP relationships
  • Lead R-LABS LP investments into new venture companies

This is a senior-level position that requires a deep understanding of the financial markets, exceptional networking skills, and a strong background in capital raising, structuring transactions, setting corporate governance, and revenue commercialization.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years raising significant capital for venture capital and / or private equity firms, along with corporate development and venture development.

Your broad network of contacts within the investment community, including, institutional investors, family offices, banks / insurance firms, corporate Canada, consultants / advisors, and board members support your success.

You bring a deep understanding of equity financing, capital markets, and investment structures along with exceptional negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
