Responsibilities
- Take direction from design leadership and drive the vision and design of enemy characters and related game systems to create and support engaging combat experiences
- Oversee, coordinate, and review AI work
- Optionally, manage a small number of other AI designers
- Work with other designers to ensure all parts of the combat experience support one another and the overall game loop
- Communicate the design to the team through multiple channels, including written design documents
- Prototype, implement, and maintain features and content using Unreal Engine 5
- Collaborate across disciplines, including art, animation, programming, and level design, to develop your features and ensure a top-tier player experience
- Review the game against the design goals and identify issues and opportunities to improve the player experience
- Receive and incorporate feedback from multiple sources to improve your features
Qualifications :
- 7+ years of experience developing video games
- Design credits on at least one title where you were responsible for major parts of the design of enemy AI, combat systems, or bosses
- Experience working hands-on with a game engine to implement your designs
- Knowledge of recent titles and trends in action games and the ability to apply insights from them
- Experience leading or managing other people a plus
