Programming Director
IAKE (Indigenous Arts Knowledge Exchange) is searching for an experienced Programming Director to help us address the specific needs of Indigenous artists by developing innovative Indigenous led models of learning and sharing, encompassing governance, metrics, and program design.
As a front-line connection with Indigenous artists, community / sectoral leaders, and cultural / arts venues, the IAKE Program Director will develop and track various arts programming initiatives, including one-on-one mentoring, virtual platforms, land-based learning, and in-person programming, as well as being responsible for some administration duties incorporating basic financial management and data collection.
This role is provided direction from a Council of Indigenous Artists Peers, including Advisory Committees, and works along side the Administrative Director and Communications Coordinator.
Your creative and keen thinking talents and methods will be critical in driving our programs and holding healthy spaces for all clients, partners, Council and Advisory members, and work colleagues.
Candidates for this position should be rooted in Indigenous values and can demonstrate or verbalize this effectively in conversation.
You should also have a minimum of 4 years practical experience in Indigenous arts. The candidate should be creative and imaginative, have a strong understanding of program development / delivery, and be comfortable communicating to all ages and lived-experience levels.
This position also requires a very flexible and open individual, able to respond to a quick-paced sector environment. Those who identify as Indigenous are most encouraged to apply.
Position Details
Start Date : Immediately.
Salary : $40 / hr. for a 35-hour work week, 1-year contract from April 1st 2024 (with the potential for extension based on funding.)
