System Administrator
Job Description
- Candidates must reside in the GTA area to be considered for this role as they will be required to be in office 3-days a week.*
- Candidates must have flexibility around core business schedule (7am-3pm; 8am-4pm; 9am-5pm; 10am-6pm; etc).*
General Function
The System Administrator provides support and day to day IT operational delivery. This includes hardware and software lifecycle management, server builds, patching and access management.
This person provides hands on technical support and troubleshooting for all infrastructure incidents and requests. This role will be required to provide 24 / 7 emergency support where necessary to ensure timely resolution of high priority incidents.
Responsibilities
- Manage all Servers, server components, server software, and patching.
- Build complex server environments including load balancing and SQL servers.
- Install and configure software applications to support Business requirements
- Management of VDI / Virtual desktop environments.
- Infrastructure configuration, monitoring and management.
- Reviews and implements best practices and innovations across windows server landscape.
- Assists with RCAs for incidents and problems.
- Develop, document and enforce system standards and procedures
- CMDB management.
Qualifications
Education :
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years’ experience in IT Operations and Infrastructure.
- Certificates : ITIL, PMP, MCSE, Etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- 3+ years of expertise in Infrastructure technology, Virtualization and Documentation.
- Practical knowledge and experience with a broad range of infrastructure technologies and Internet facing environments. Examples including VMware, Nutanix, Windows Servers, Azure and AWS.
- Active directory, Exchange and Office 365 administration.
- Hands on experience with Service desk, ticket management, asset management and maintaining SOPs.
- Expertise in storage technologies, configuration and management.
- Experience in Enterprise-level software package integration and deployment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Strong understanding of DHCP, DNS and network technologies.
- SCCM and Patch management lifecycles.
- Experience with MI, IaaS, PaaS.
- A passion for technology and enjoys solving complex IT problems.
