The Office of the Piluwitahasuwin serves as a vital link between the University and Wabanaki and other Indigenous communities.

The Office develops and fosters positive internal and external relations between the broader university community as well as with the Indigenous community, territory and its stakeholders.

Standard Work Hours : Mon - Fri 8 : 15 am - 4 : 30 pm 36.25 hours per weekSalary Range : $44,863 - $61,143 per annumYOUR FOCUSReporting to the Piluwitahasuwin, the Assistant to the Piluwitahasuwin, provides administrative and executive support to assist in the implementation of the strategic goals of the Piluwitahasuwin.

Manage the schedule of the Piluwitahasuwin. Arrange meetings, travel, meeting space, and equipment. Compile agenda items and background information.

Record and prepare meeting minutes and follow up on the status of action items.Support the day-to-day coordination and management of Indigenous engagement priorities, activities, projects and committees led by the Office of the Piluwitahasuwin.

Support TRC committee work.Assist with the coordination of events and Indigenous Student Orientation.Facilitate regular and effective engagement and relationship-building with a variety of communities and stakeholders to advance the strategic goals of the Office of Piluwitahasuwin.

Perform general office administrative duties.WHAT YOU BRINGCertificate, diploma or degree in office or business administration, or related field.

Good understanding of the diversity of Indigenous peoples in Canada and a keen understanding of Indigenous history, current affairs, knowledgeable about Indigenous communities, culture and traditions, preferably regional.

Additional Strengths : Knowledge of client-centred and collaborative approaches to Indigenous client service.Work experience with supporting project management activities.

Experience working in post-secondary institutions considered an asset.Indigenous language considered an asset.Demonstrated relationships with Indigenous communities and / or organizations.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.Advanced technical, communicative and writing skills.Excellent time management and work prioritization skills.
