BRANCH MANAGER FOR INTEGRATED DEALER (IIROC, MFDA, INSURANCE, RIA (US)

OPPORTUNITY

To accommodate our continued growth and success, we are seeking the role of a full-time individual with previous experience at an IIROC dealer member.

The position requires an experienced, detail-oriented individual with strong process, communication skills and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, follow, and relay the company's policies and procedures.

DESCRIPTION

Department Overview

The Branch Manager will report to the Chief Compliance officer. The compliance department is responsible for determining the policies and procedures of the firm and training the respective employees and advisors.

This individual will liaise and support all departments to lead any initiatives related to the training and development of advisors, and their branch teams, for the various Nour divisions.

This is to be accomplished by :

  • Obtaining extensive knowledge and understanding of Nour’s policies and procedures.
  • Working directly with staff, advisors, and branches on business development initiatives, including onboarding the branch and support post-onboarding.
  • Assist advisors with sales communication and advertising.
  • Promoting a positive culture within the firm.
  • Providing training and education through effective tools.
  • Taking preventative measures to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develop and deliver web training modules for advisors & assistants as required.
  • Provide follow-up training and assist with their navigation of various third-party operating systems.
  • Conduct one-on-one visits to advisor teams in accordance with an annual schedule, documenting a thorough review followed by a development plan proposal.
  • Manage the advisor transition process.
  • Assist advisors with sales communications, and promote advertising.
  • Manage projects from the requirements stage to testing and implementation.
  • Work with Operations on branch set-up, including portal access and permissions, smartphone setup, etc.
  • Administer compliance controls within the department and the business units and provide suggestions for improvement as required to resolve gaps and / or create efficiency.
  • Create and update the transition Smartsheet tracker, and ensure all required tasks are completed within the established timeline to ensure a smooth transfer of the advisor’s book of business.
  • Assist in enhancing policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's and industry's policies and procedures.
  • Escalate issues identified as non-compliance.
  • Foster a cooperative working relationship among peers and business partners.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic risk opportunities.
  • Support the CCO with ongoing review of regulatory requirements / changes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • University / College degree or combination of equivalent education and a minimum of five years of experience as a Branch Manager or other management role at an IIROC dealer member.
  • Diplomatic problem-solving skills to resolve issues within a functional area and / or across functional areas.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations impacting personal financial services activities.
  • Experience in executing and managing business processes within a functional area or branch.
  • Experience adapting to a change in process, new systems, and expansion.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating the vision for a functional area or branch that inspires and aligns the team of advisors.
  • Ability to work independently and with the team, think critically, and make decisions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional flexibility and strong time management skills to adapt to shifting priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly, is results-driven, and thrives within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, along with a keen eye for detail to apply critical thinking to solve complex problems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Other Qualifications / Skills / Experience :

  • Previous compliance or operations experience in integrated dealership setting (IIROC, MFDA, SEC / FINRA. INSURANCE).
  • Familiar with brokerage back-office operations, objectives, and initiatives
  • Ability to understand, analyze, interpret, and apply such regulation in an operational context in an environment that is constantly changing and has competing priorities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft systems : Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • French (spoken and written) is an asset
