Our client is a small -medium sized well-established distributor in the medical supplies / medical instrumentation / medical device industry and has a job open for Director of Operations Warehousing & Transportation to be based out of their office in Richmond Hill- Markham East Toronto area.

This is a highly regulated medical device- medical Supplies TDG environment . The role is responsible for overall operations Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, Inbound, Outbound, Freight Logistics, Customs Compliance, Customer service and Order Management.

This is a hands-on , roll-up-the-sleeve’ work culture and will require 5 days a week from the site with some flexibility on Fridays.

Director of Operations will be overall incharge of import of finished goods highly regulated inventory, work closely with customs, compliance, select carriers in accordance with FDA< Health Canada, HACCP GMP requirements , oversee Demand & Supply Planning, Inventory, Vendor Management, Negotiations, freight costs, Selection and performance management of carriers and small parcel delivery partners ( UPS, DHL, Fed Ex, Purolator etc.

This is temperature-controlled inventory. You will work closely with Quality and Compliance for regulatory requirements under medical device, medical supplies Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), Chemicals and similar.

You will oversee the warehouse -inbound, out bound and inventory manage requirements from the Ministry, Health Canada, manage operating costs, labor budgets, KPIs, employee engagement and improve the overall customer experience lead times, on time delivery.

Director of Operations will have a minimum of 12-15 years of experience ideally in the Canadian medical supply industry (to be able to align to Canadian regulatory requirements from Health Canada, Canadian customs etc.

or any other temperature controlled regulated industry like Food, Supply to hospitals, clinics, laboratories instrumentation, medical devices etc.

Transportation Logistics Small Parcel Courier solutions in a temperature controlled fast paced environment to hospitals, clinics, laboratory, testing centers and its governance is highly preferred.

Degree, diploma, people leadership, established track record of managing budgets, spends, SOPs, Best Practices, temperature-controlled inventory is ideal.

APICS, SCMP, CPIM, CLCP, or any other related designations / courses is a definite asset.

Qualified applicants already in GTA, willing to work 5 days a week from offices in Richmond Hill Markham area long term with experience from temperature-controlled inventory to hospitals / clinics etc.
