Role Summary :

Reporting to the Director, CIE Poultry Sales, the Key Account Manager, Commodity Sales is responsible for managing the full sales cycle (planning-negotiation-logistics-credit management) for the turkey, chicken and pet food sectors.

The focus is to develop a rapport with customers and plant personnel.

Key accountabilities :

  • Accountable for managing the personal / phone sales for assigned accounts.
  • Accountable for assigned commodity, industrial, pet food, chicken and turkey account sales.
  • Maximize volume and revenue in key assigned and new accounts, while sourcing new accounts.
  • Accountable for developing new commodity, industrial and pet foods accounts as required across Canada.
  • Accountable for fresh sales and frozen inventory management / sales.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of Sales and / or Planning experience.
  • Preference for experience in commodity sales and account management.
  • A proven record of profitable management of accounts.
  • Degree / Diploma in a business discipline is preferable.
  • Good working knowledge of sales process (prospecting, presentation, objections, close, management and follow up).

Job Dimension

  • Periodic travel will be required 4 to 6 weeks per year.
  • Office based role in office 3 days per week.

Internal Relationship :

  • Build strong relationships with team members on the poultry commodity and retail team.
  • Build and develop and strong working relationship with the planning, transportation and operations team.

External Relationship :

Manage a list of 50+ customers on a weekly basis.

Contract role : Till July 2025
