To drive our sustainable growth in North America, we are looking for a new Application Engineer based in Ontario.

Job summary :

In this key position, you are responsible for the technical support of our customers and our SIGA sales teams. You ensure that the SIGA product range and application recommendations are aligned with market requirements and customer needs.

Furthermore, you will be actively involved in the development of new products and technical communication documents.

Your responsibilities :

• Assess new applications for SIGA products in line with local code requirements.
• On-site testing of SIGA product prototypes
• Provide technical support to our SIGA sales teams and customers.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as installation guidelines, 3-Part Specifications, technical drawings, etc.
• Create and hold technical trainings for our SIGA sales team.
• Analyze building codes and market barriers; ensure certification / evaluation of SIGA products.
• Travel to construction jobsites to review progress and product applications.

Your qualifications :

5+ years’ experience in the construction industry with extensive understanding of building physics, construction processes, building envelop and air sealing practices.

Firsthand construction experience is a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, wood engineering, architecture or construction management or applicable field experience
• You like to identify market trends and customer needs by analyzing the construction industry and by conducting informal research with customers.
• With your excellent communication skills, you interact confidently with various groups of internal and external stakeholders from various backgrounds.
• You are proficient in English, and you have excellent writing skills to generate easy to understand technical content.
• Passive House and high-performance building envelope knowledge and experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to present and speak with internal teams and external customers.
• Solid analytical and decision-making skills, self-motivation, assertiveness.
• Candidate must live in Toronto area.

Salay Range $75,000 - $85,000 CAD

What else you need to know :

You will be carrying out the above-mentioned tasks from your home office. However, this position requires regular travel approx.

25 % within the US, Canada, and Switzerland. To be well prepared for your new tasks you will complete job training for multiple weeks in the USA, Canada, and Switzerland.

Vos responsabilités :

• Évaluer les nouvelles applications des produits SIGA conformément aux exigences des codes locaux.
• Tests sur site des prototypes de produits SIGA
• Assurer le support technique à nos équipes commerciales SIGA et à nos clients.
• Créer et maintenir à jour la documentation technique telle que les directives d'installation, les spécifications en 3 parties, les dessins techniques, etc.
• Créer et animer des formations techniques pour notre équipe commerciale SIGA.
• Analyser les codes du bâtiment et les barrières du marché ; assurer la certification / évaluation des produits SIGA.
• Se rendre sur les chantiers de construction pour examiner les progrès et les applications des produits.

Vos qualifications :

Plus de 5 ans d'expérience dans le secteur de la construction avec une compréhension approfondie de la physique du bâtiment, des processus de construction, de l'enveloppe du bâtiment et des pratiques d'étanchéité à l'air.

Une expérience directe en construction est un plus.

• Baccalauréat en génie de la construction, génie du bois, architecture ou gestion de la construction ou expérience de terrain pertinente
• Vous aimez identifier les tendances du marché et les besoins des clients en analysant le secteur de la construction et en menant des recherches informelles auprès des clients.
• Grâce à vos excellentes compétences en communication, vous interagissez en toute confiance avec divers groupes d'intervenants internes et externes provenant d'horizons variés.
• Vous maîtrisez l'anglais et possédez d'excellentes compétences rédactionnelles pour générer un contenu technique facile à comprendre.
• La connaissance et l'expérience de la maison passive et de l'enveloppe du bâtiment à haute performance sont un plus.
• Capacité démontrée à présenter et à parler avec des équipes internes et des clients externes.
• Solides compétences analytiques et décisionnelles, motivation personnelle, assertivité.
• Le candidat doit vivre dans la région de Toronto.
