Trust Fund Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a Trust Fund Accountant to join our BPA team in Mississauga.
The Trust Fund Accountant is responsible for handling a small book of business of trust fund clients.
The Trust Fund Accountant will :
- Prepare journals and maintain up-to-date GL transactions;
- Reconcile all balance sheet and income statement accounts;
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Prepare government remittances;
- Monitor cash flow and prepare bank transfers to invest surplus funds;
- Prepare cash flow, investment and other reports as required by clients;
- Prepare working papers and assist during annual audits;
- Evaluate and handle client related inquiries;
- Handle day-to-day accounting duties for the clients.
To be successful as a Trust Fund Accountant with BPA, you will need :
- 3 or more years of working in an office environment with a focus on accounting;
- Experience with full-cycle accounting
- College or University Diploma in business administration, with a focus on accounting;
- Excellent computer skills, including MS office applications with intermediate to advanced level in MS Excel;
- Co-operative team player with strong math skills.
All-star candidates will have :
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent
- Working towards CPA certification is an asset
- 3 years’ experience in a corporate accounting environmen
