Reporting to the Assistant Manager Marketing, the Marketing Support Associate will play a critical role in supporting sales and marketing initiatives.
This will primarily include planning and coordinating S&C’s customer facing marketing activities. Specifically, the individual will play a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and executing various marketing and promotion related events and activities.
These events may include but not limited to product launches, plant tours, industry trade shows, and internal team-building events.
The person will be responsible for ensuring that these events run smoothly, leaving a positive impression on attendees while promoting our brand and products.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Plan trade show exhibitions and customer events, including identifying requirements from key stakeholders, proactively organizing planning meetings, and booking accommodations and registrations for S&C employees.
- Represent the company at external events and respond to inquires.
- Support the Marketing department to develop and provide tools to enable the sales team to be more effective.
- Gather information at industry events and report back to the marketing and sales team.
- Organize and ensure the smooth operation of exhibitions and events, including pre- and post-event planning and publicity.
- Maintain inventory of promotional material and other marketing material.
- Update the sales team’s calendars with industry events, trade shows and conferences.
- Stay up-to-date with industry events and strategy groups and communicating attendance opportunities to the Marketing Manager and Sales team.
- Organize visits to S&C’s Toronto facility; this includes customer meetings (large groups), tours of the factory and Solution Centre, and training workshops.
- Overseeing the operation of the Solution Centre (S&C’s product and solution display room).
- Participate in company meetings to keep the marketing team informed on industry activities.
- Manage and negotiate external contracts related to marketing activities (., exhibition material, logistics services, .
- Any additional departmental responsibilities, as required.
Minimum Requirements :
Education / Professional Certification :
- Bachelors or Diploma in Business, Marketing, Event Planning, or in a similar field OR
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered
Experience :
Minimum of 2+ years work experience in a marketing or event planning position
Skills :
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with diverse groups
- Excellent presentation skills
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Experience with Adobe software (., InDesign, Photoshop) and event management software considered an asset
Physical Effort :
Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. Involves mainly sitting at desk and performing computer work.
May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting / moving / using objects or equipment up to 5kg / 11lbs
Travel :
Required to travel offsite for company related functions or training.
