PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for all on-site construction activities daily (Monday to Friday, approx. 40+ hours).
- Work closely with the Project Manager from beginning to end (Close out) of the project to maintain productivity and quality.
- Review, understand project to ensure it is constructed in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
- Effectively forecast project labour requirements.
- Able to problem solve in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist on keeping the project on schedule and on budget.
- Coordination, scheduling, and monitor work performance of sub contractors.
- Commitment to continual learning, teamwork and providing excellent customer service.
- Conduct on site meetings with trades to ensure project plans & schedule are followed.
- Conduct safety meetings on site, enforce safety policies, and all ministry guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all workers on your job site.
- Assists periodically on other projects as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5-year minimum experience as a Site Superintendent on industrial / commercial projects.
- Strong leadership / managerial qualities required.
- Experience in pre-engineered steel building construction, conventional steel construction, wood framed construction.
- Thorough understanding of building codes, permitting process, building bylaws, specifications etc.
- Exemplary analytic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proven leadership skills with a large and diverse workforce.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Willing to travel and stay overnight as required
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract.
- Minimum Grade 12 high school diploma.
