Our Forestry Superintendent plays an integral part in coordinating a sustainable supply of fibre to our manufacturing facilities while working closely with Indigenous communities, Government, stakeholders and the public .

We’re looking for a Forestry Superintendent to join our Cariboo Woodlands Division located in Williams Lake, British Columbia.

The Cariboo Woodlands Team manages Tolko's and our partners tenure in the central interior of British Columbia covering an area of 2,054,626 hectares.

We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications :

  • Minimum 10+ years of related industry experience.
  • Post secondary education in Forestry and currently registered as a Forestry Professional with Forest Professionals BC.
  • Experience in managing large scale projects and coordinating staff to innovate and deliver organizational results.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of related BC Forest legislation and implementation.
  • Possess a well-developed understanding of landscape level planning, timber harvesting systems forest stewardship planning, and timber development in Interior BC.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, government, public and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Unwavering commitment to safety and the ability to demonstrate safe behaviors.

In this role you will :

  • Oversee a team of forest professionals who are responsible for establishing landscape level plans to facilitate forest development and subsequent harvesting programs for approximately 1,500,000m3 annually.
  • Lead and manage operational relationships with Indigenous, stakeholders and the public as required to secure fibre for Tolko’s manufacturing facilities.
  • Lead landscape level planning initiatives and strategic coordination to support operational timber development.
  • Take a lead role in transitioning from Tolko’s Forest Stewardship Plan into Forest Landscape Level Plans across the Cariboo Region.
  • Have the benefit of a flexible schedule working between office and field work. You are empoweredto manage priority initiatives and schedule your time accordingly.
