This includes 12V battery chargers, battery maintainers, jump starters, power inverters, and power stations.
Opportunity : We’re seeking a dynamic National Sales Development Manager. This role involves nurturing existing customers, discovering new ones, and overseeing the sales process from targeting to onboarding.
You’ll handle inbound inquiries, collaborate with distributors and retailers to secure business, gather competitive intelligence, and apply business logic to close opportunities within the retail market for automotive 12V battery charging segments.
Responsibilities : The role encompasses but isn’t limited to :
- Managing existing accounts and maintaining regular communication to close sales opportunities through various channels.
- Collaborating closely with national retail chains to secure both online and shelf space with product promotions and standard SKU items.
- Reading and understanding basic product prints, researching competitive products, and recommending equivalent products.
- Using the ERP system for generating quotes, placing orders, performing stock checks, and working within customer portals for quote entry.
- Developing and implementing strategies for account penetration, including regular business reviews for key customers to maximize sales.
- Securing business meetings with national and regional account decision-makers in partnership with senior management.
- Tracking the sales process from quote to close for both short and long-term opportunities.
- Collaborating with internal teams on national accounts.
Qualifications : Candidates must possess the following :
- Experience in wholesale and retail distribution, preferably with Automotive 12V accessories or experience selling power tool products within Canada.
- National retail experience, specifically with onboarding within that market segment.
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing / business OR 5+ years’ work experience in sales development, inside sales, or outside sales.
- Ability to navigate the sales process to address customer objections / concerns and determine appropriate solutions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills.
- Business math aptitude (gross margin, landed costs calculations).
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
