Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for an Data Platform Engineer with a strong understanding of CDK, exceptional understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure, and solid DevOps Engineering expertise to place at our client, a Big Five Bank.

• Terms : 6-month contract to hire.
• Location : Currently 100% Remote, Post COVID, Downtown Toronto

The Bank Platform Engineer will help evolve the core cloud platform, by leveraging emerging best practices and tools, securely connecting to our strategic cloud suppliers, providing a platform for innovation for the entire Bank.

Job Description :

• Design, implement and integrate the bank’s Cloud Platform, core, and shared services.
• Design, implement and manage hybrid cloud connectivity and intra-cloud networking.
• Develop patterns for automated provisioning, management, scalability, and security.
• Ensure that all cloud solutions follow internally defined security and compliance standards and controls.
• Be the major contributor to IaC modules : develop new modules, maintain existing modules.
• Design and plan enterprise-scale cloud environments including application dependencies, data storage and flow, network connectivity and overall cloud hosting.
• Design, implement and secure cloud IaaS, PaaS, and other services in AWS.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date architectural templates, build an operational documentation of the technical environment.
• Continuously enhance the capability, security, and experience of the enterprise Hybrid cloud.

Key Qualifications :

• Foundational knowledge of Cloud data platform, ML / AI, ML Ops, and data visualization
• Experience working with AWS EMR, Sagemaker, Glue, data caching and data warehouse
• Proven ability to secure data sources, data platforms and data analytics and visualization layers
• Solid understanding of Enterprise cloud data platform architecture including Ingestion, storage, processing, streaming, metadata and servicing layers.
• Experience designing and implementing Cloud data security, data governance using IAM, Ranger, AWS Datalake
• Hands on programming experience using Python
• Experience preparing automated implementation of EMR Clusters, ML Ops Pipeline, and system integration
• Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Quicksight) and data gateways
• A critical thinker with a Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and advanced multi-tasking and prioritization skills
• Hands on experience with CI / CD technologies -AWS Code Commit, Code Pipeline, Code Deploy, Bit bucket
• Certification : Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Data Analytics, Certified Machine Learning
