Job Description
About this job :
We are looking for an experienced audit professional to join the Internal Audit department to lead the delivery of assurance and advisory services to PartnerRe’s North American operations.
About the role :
- Conducting risk-based audits of key business processes in accordance with professional standards for internal auditing to ensure that internal controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively
- Planning and execution audits of the design and operating effectiveness of Internal Control over Financial Reporting (Sarbanes Oxley 404 control testing)
- Providing assurance over the design of controls for key areas of change prior to implementation
- Follow up of audit recommendations to ensure appropriate corrective action has been taken to resolve identified control deficiencies
- Contributing to group internal audit status reports; leading the reporting for certain legal entities
- Partnering with management to strengthen internal controls and improve business processes
- Provide due diligence advice on risk related issues for corporate development activities, new system implementations and other strategic initiatives to ensure internal controls are considered and designed into the process
- Assisting on special projects
- Direct and develop a team of four internal auditors based in Stamford and Toronto
Qualifications
About you :
- 5+ years of experience in internal or external auditing
- Gravitas proven ability to operate independently and effectively at the highest levels of an organization
- Ability to effectively work as part of an international team
- A change agent who will constantly strive for improvement and get deeply involved in implementing the strategy.
- Good project management, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer focused, collaborative, flexible, persistent and results-oriented
- Self-starter who can adapt quickly to a changing environment
- Ability to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
- Prior experience with analytics / visualization software would be a plus
- Ability to develop other team members
- An undergraduate business degree
- CIA or CPA
