The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning.
Our nearly 150 schools offer a wide range of programs to promote learning excellence and meet the individual needs of students, parents, and the community at large.
Our schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.
We are seeking creative, dynamic, and committed
teachers to join our team at Henry Munro Middle School.
Henry Munro has an enrolment of approximately 550 students in grades 6-8 with ethnic and linguistic backgrounds representing over 30 countries.
Our dual-track school (English Program and Early French Immersion Program) includes two ELD classes and one BIP (Behavior Intervention Program).
We receive most of our grade 6 students from Carson Grove Elementary, Robert Hopkins Public, and LePhare schools, forming our ethno-culturally, socioeconomically diverse population, including many refugee and newcomer families.
Approximately 60 professional and dedicated teachers, educational assistants, administrative, and custodial staff, work hard to improve and sustain a vibrant learning environment.
We serve our students in strong partnership with a Multicultural Liaison Officer from the Ottawa Community Immigration Services Organization, working to meet the needs of our many Arabic-speaking students and families.
Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board’s (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school, and the District, by creating a positive and inclusive school climate, learning and workplace environment.
Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully, with a human rights and equity perspective, to foster student success, achievement and well-being.
