Head of Tax - Private Equity

Vested Search are excited to partner with a globally established investment firm within private equity and alternatives who are seeking to hire a Head of Tax in their Toronto HQ.

The position is newly created to work directly with the global leadership team locally and will have a global focus in managing investment and international tax projects for their extended portfolio of assets

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :

• Providing tax structuring advice to investments and acquisitions within North America and global jurisdictions across the portfolio of assets
• Manage and monitor developments of international tax law, policy and developments that could affect tax positioning and risk management for the business and investments
• Tax strategy development working closely with investment teams and those in finance and legal - identifying commercial opportunities for the investment portfolio where appropriate
• Wider ad-hoc international tax and investment tax support to the management company, funds and portfolio in close collaboration with wider tax teams and core business functions

Individuals should have a demonstrated background within transaction tax support or international tax, with good understanding of the investment management industry
