About the Job :
The Public Health Nurse (PHN), as an integral member of the Public Health Services team :
- Provides nursing services within the framework of the Population Health / Health Promotion model
- Translate knowledge from the health and social sciences to support health enhancing behaviours to diverse individuals, families, and population groups through universal and targeted interventions, programs and advocacy
- Offers services in communities, schools, homes and outreach locations to individuals, families and communities
Inherent in the role are knowledge, skills and abilities specific to health promotion, epidemiology, community development, primary health care, social determinants of health and illness, and disease and injury prevention
This is a Casual Opportunity. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions.

Days of work may be Monday to Friday during the hours of 08 : 30 to 16 : 30.
Effective April 1, 2024, the hourly wage for this position will be $41.42 to $55.91

In the summer, the plethora of fruit and vegetable stands in the area will delight you. Grapes grown in this lush land are known as some of the best in the area.
The well-preserved early 1900’s buildings give the town a distinctive Old West feel. Cattle Ranching, hay ranging and fruit growing are the economic mainstays here, with cherry, peach, pear, apricot and apple orchards blanketing the landscape.

You are required to hold a valid BC Driver’s License and may be required to drive a personal car on mileage and / or be assigned a fleet vehicle as a condition of employment.
