Job Description
The Business Continuity team is accountable for setting and maintaining the MUFG Investor Services’ Operational Resilience, Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Crisis Management (CM) standards and frameworks that will maximize the businesses return on investment and ensure client confidence is upheld at all times.
The role reports directly to the Senior Associate Director, Business Continuity Management and will partner and collaborate across the organization to increase the maturity of the existing scenario testing program to enable the firm to continue to assess risk and associated mitigation strategies, while being responsible for the end-to-end processes for scenario testing.
Additionally, the candidate will be required to partner with the existing Crisis Management function to provide support to crisis teams in real-world events and their own exercises, as well as provide training for and apply knowledge and information gained through the identification and execution of scenarios
Role and Responsibilities
Engage and manage relationships with senior stakeholders across the organization, act as the primary point of contact and provide necessary support during crisis events.
- Lead post-crisis debriefs with senior stakeholders to evaluate response effectiveness and implement improvements, where necessary.
- Lead the development and implementation comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to identify critical or important business functions and determine impact tolerance.
- Develop and maintain Location Emergency Management Team (EMT) manual and business continuity plans.
- Conduct quarterly location EMT meetings and ensure meeting minutes are documented, and action items are tracked for closure.
- Oversee the financial aspects of BCM initiatives, including budgeting and cost management. Work on commercial agreements and contracts related to BCM services and solutions.
- Develop and maintain a scenario library and agree on scenario details aligned to internally identified risks and vulnerabilities and externally published horizon scanning reports.
- Develop an annual testing schedule covering all Operational Resilience, and Business Continuity testing requirements. Coordinate all pre-test and post-test activities, including scoping documentation, testing plans and packs, logistical requirements with relevant stakeholders
- Develop and maintain global Crisis Management Manual, Crisis Communication plan and scenario-based playbooks
- Develop and maintain the BCM and Operational Resilience training material and system user guides for all employees, location EMTs, location BC coordinators.
- Maintain BCM intranet site on SharePoint for education and knowledge management, location wise BCM related information / attributes.
- Coordinate with IT Service management team on P1 / P2 incidents and provide support in the documentation of incident reports and preventative measures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements related to BCM and Operational Resilience. Stay updated on changes in regulations and industry standards and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Any other ad-hoc duties, as required
Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements for risk management and Business Continuity Planning (BCP), as well as risk requirements and guidelines
- Strong understanding of Business Continuity, Crisis Management, IT Disaster Recovery and IT Service Management
- Working knowledge of Fund administration business
- Hands on knowledge of risk assessment techniques, business impact analysis, BCP planning and testing with strong cross-experience in financial services / fund services
- Advanced ability with the Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience of onboarding new systems / technology are preferred.
- Strong IT skills with strengths in Microsoft Office products.
- Industry certification in one of the following : CBCI, CBCM, CBCP, PMI, ITIL, etc. would be beneficial but not essential
