About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Primary Health Care Health Services Manager, the Administrative Assistant provides confidential administrative support, works within an administrative team environment, and acts as a liaison between managers, Primary Health Care Director and site employees.
The Administrative Assistant provides primary health care administrative support to network and zone initiatives / committees as related to the Health Services Manager and Health Services Lead positions and holds the role of payroll Time Administrator.
The Administrative Assistant ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work such as the vision, mission, values, expected behaviors, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the support that is provided by the work that they do and through the messages they deliver.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following :
- Graduate of a recognized office administration program / secretarial program.
- Minimum of one years’ experience in an administrative support position required.
- Experience working in a hospital or health-related environment is considered an asset.
- Ability to use Microsoft Windows and all components of Microsoft Office.
- Understanding or knowledge of electronic medical record - MedAccess would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of computers is essential with proficiency in word processing, database management, spreadsheet programs and familiarity with email and Internet technology.
- Accurate keyboarding skills with a minimum speed of 40 wpm.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NSHA programs, functions and organizational structure.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated planning, organizing and prioritizing and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including the ability to take and transcribe minutes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a challenging workload in an environment where frequent interruptions, multiple priorities, deadlines and concurrent activities occur.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work as a team member and foster collaborative relationships.
- Demonstrated accountability, initiative and ability to make decisions, set priorities, and work independently.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.

Hours
- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
- Shifts include days, nights and weekends (or other specific hours of shifts)
- Travel to various sites may be required
Compensation and Incentives
$22.34 - $27.92 Hourly
