From housekeeping to administering medication, our staff is both the foundation and the face of our business.Location : Yarmouth HeightsTitle : Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) / Personal Care Worker (PCW)Schedule : Casual PositionsResponsibilitiesResponsibilities : Provide personal hygiene, oral care, skin care, toileting, bathing, feeding, dressing and grooming to residentsEncourage and assist in maintaining the autonomy of residents whenever possibleMaintain confidentiality concerning residents, staff and organizational informationWork within the NSAHO Scope of PracticeProvide companionship and emotional support to residentsMaintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to facility infection control policiesRecord keeping, updating and maintaining resident charts and reporting any changes in a resident's conditionQualificationsQualifications : High school diploma or equivalentCurrent Standard First-Aid and CPR certificationSuccessful completion or enrollment in a CCA / PSW programEffective communication, both written and verbal in EnglishPhysically fit / able to perform physically demanding job dutiesReliable and punctual with a good attendance recordRegistered with the CCA RegistryPrevious experience working in geriatrics is an assetSkillsConfidentiality, Emotional, Leasing, Schedule, SupportArrayAbout GEM Health Care GroupGEM Health Care Group is a Nova Scotian, family run business which has been enhancing the lives of seniors in the communities where they operate since 1979.
