Job Overview
As a Senior Actuarial Consultant on the National Initiatives team, you will be responsible for leading national pricing projects that improve the sophistication of our Pricing processes for all P&C products, across all lines of business and regions.
One core responsibility of the National Initiatives team is our Personal Lines indication process, which you will be involved in leading, improving our methodology, and communicating results and insights to Senior leadership.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership in our indication process.
- Provide indication methodology recommendations in response to new trends or events.
- Based on indication results, communicate profitability outlook and other important insights to senior leadership.
- Advance our practice in estimating and explaining loss and premium trends.
- Lead projects from beginning to end, including projects that involve multiple analysts.
- Evaluate Pricing process and procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular project updates to stakeholders. Anticipates obstacles and raises them in advance; Propose possible solutions to obstacles.
- Actively seek out opportunities to provide feedback, instruction, and development guidance to help others excel in their current or future job responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related discipline
- More than six years of P&C actuarial experience an asset
- FCAS designation an asset
- Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate at the right level of complexity for the audience.
- Proficiency with Excel, SQL, Python, and Radar are considered assets
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple concurrent assignments
- Strong collaboration skills, including coaching and leadership
