Job Summary :
The Department of Culture & Arts ( CA’) is comprised of the Jewish Heritage Museum, Creative Arts Studio, Music Therapy, Permanent Art Collection, Jewish Cultural and Spiritual Programming, the Professional Arts, and the Culture Hub.
The department supports an integrated, inter-professional approach that innovates in all areas including client programming to enhance life engagement and health / wellbeing, intergenerational activities, educational opportunities, and design / development work.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Produces creative and original programming in collaboration with Baycrest staff and third-party vendors.
Works closely with the team to identify production priorities, design requirements, development and design options, and provide time and cost estimates for the production of specific deliverables.
Shoots video on location or provide remote assistance, and provide both visual / audio troubleshooting and editing of final productions.
- Assists with the planning and oversee the live streaming and recording of live events shot at Baycrest.
- Ensures all Culture & Arts content is securely archived and managed to ensure it is easy to locate.
- Helps to establish and maintain a process by which a wide range of domain experts and other stakeholders can engage with Culture & Arts to create and submit content offerings.
Drafts reference and training documents for Baycrest recreational / entertainment staff who may be working either at Baycrest or remotely.
- Provides training to digital content authors and content coordinators.
- Oversees the creation and maintenance of resources and tools to help collaborators and stakeholders create, submit, review, provide feedback on and approve video and other digital content deliverables.
- Provides ongoing training and support to staff managing Culture & Arts platform channels such as website, app, and video content platforms.
- Provides training, reminders and troubleshooting to Culture & Arts staff and other providers using digital platforms.
- Provides second-level technical support to end users, escalating and coordinating support.
- Provides remote troubleshooting to clients with technology and devices provided for use with Culture & Arts digital services.
Qualifications include but are not limited to :
Undergraduate degree or College training in technology, audio or video production / editing, recording arts, music or related field
7+ years’ experience in a technical specialist role supporting audio / video production and / or internet streaming services
Able to work independently (but in coordination with team members) in a fast- paced, rapidly changing environment
Digital media editing software
Audio and video recording equipment Digital content management software Website creation platforms Communications
- Excellent client management skills, with proven track record of meeting or exceeding client expectations
- This is a hands-on’ role, where the Specialist will need to be comfortable in taking an active role in the provision of solutions, not just in their design and development
- Excellent coordination, time management and organization skills
- Ability to work in a high stress, fast paced environment
