Our Client is premium, Canadian based, Food Manufacturer. With national distribution across Foodservice and Retail / Grocery categories, they continue to gain market-share and expand product lines.

The Opportunity :

Our Client is seeking an experienced full time National Retail Sales Manager (NAM), focused on managing national key accounts.

Primary responsibility will be to deliver sales results through innovative head office initiatives.

Responsibilities & Deliverables :

  • National responsibility with major retail banner customers being primarily regionally based in Ontario. (Head office account management experience with one of the following : Sobeys, Walmart, Loblaw, Metro and / or Costco is required.)
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills and fact-based selling skills.
  • Lead all customer facing activities for Retail / Club businesses with goal of delivering net sales, market share and profit goals within authorized trade spend.
  • Develop strong long-term relationships with key trade personnel.
  • Execute timely presentation of all existing opportunities and new products
  • Ability to trouble- shoot problems and bring forward recommendations for solutions.
  • Formal negotiation training would be an asset.
  • Strong forecasting skills and ability to provide relevant insight into production planning to meet customer service expectations.
  • Effective communication of all programs including - ads, new products, customer specific marketing vehicles etc., to relevant internal departments.
  • Assist in Customer Trade Shows which may include set up, tear down and / or working the Show.
  • Conduct regular Account Planning and Customer reviews. Collect and disseminate business and competitive intelligence on account.
  • Manage risk, identify, communicate and suggest options to reduce and mitigate risk related to market, customer and competitive activities forward

Qualifications & Competencies :

  • A minimum of three (5) years account experience in National Account Management / Retail Sales and / or Business Development in the Food, CPG, Retail / Grocery sector.
  • Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office required.
