Position Overview
The Senior Tax Analyst will primarily assist with all aspects of Tax Due Diligence, Structuring and Integration of new acquisitions.
The Senior Tax Analyst may also assist with tax reporting, tax planning, tax modeling, tax compliance, and tax audits, as needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Play an important role in navigating the tax implications of various acquisitions undertaken through the transaction life cycle from initial due diligence through post-deal implementation.
- Assist, as part of a cross functional team, with integration activities from a tax compliance, planning and risk mitigation perspective.
- Assist with tax structuring activities to optimize tax implications of each deal
- Assist with the process of understanding acquisition forecasts to aid in acquisition tax planning
- Manage post acquisition tax compliance responsibilities, including tax returns and tax elections
- Assist with the quarter end and year-end tax processes including understand the PPA process, Corporate income tax filings and tax provisions, liaising with the company’s independent tax auditors and responding to year-end schedules requests
- Assist with respond to inquiries for federal and provincial income tax audit and at times, assist with commodity tax audits
- Assist with collaboration, standardization and risk mitigation within the tax function
- Assist with standardization and process optimization efforts within the company
- Assist with the establishment and implementation of internal controls, policies and procedures and ensure compliance across the organization.

Preferred Experience
- 3-7 years of progressive and relevant tax experience, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Recognized professional accounting designation is required
- Hands on approach to the function
- Strong technical skills combined with solid business acumen
- Previous experience with multiple legal entity and multi-divisional corporate structures
- Proficiency in the use of tax preparation software
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Acquisition and due diligence experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Solid understanding of IFRS and internal control frameworks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
