Industrial Designer Product Development
to join our growing company. The individual will design new light fixtures or improve existing ones and will work as part of the Product Development team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO :
- Imagine creative product families of light fixture that fit our brand and market positioning;
- Starting from a project brief, is the owner of the complete product development cycle : concept selection, design, commercialization, production setup;
- Construction of three-dimensional CAD models in Solidworks;
- Creation of drawings to allow the fabrication of mock-ups and prototypes for testing and evaluation;
- Interact with suppliers to understand manufacturing restrictions;
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques required to build in sheet-metal, metal and plastic extrusion, die-cast, thermoform and plastic injection;
- Benchmark competitive products;
- Help define key selling point;
- Support in setting up for mass manufacturing;
- Is the Project Manager and managers the scope, timeline and budget of the project;
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE YOU SHOULD POSSESS :
- Bachelor degree in Industrial Design from a recognized university;
- Must be an expert in Solidworks;
- Excellent written and verbal skills;
- Full proficiency in MS Office (Word; Excel; Outlook);
- Ability to think creatively and bring ideas to the table;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Experience in the lighting industry will be considered a strong asset
- Knowledge of UL safety standards will be considered a strong asset
- Various positions available depending on experience;
