Summary : Norsat is looking an experienced HR Coordinator / Payroll Administrator to join our HR Team. The team is responsible for full-cycle recruiting, on-boarding, training & development, employee relations, performance management, compensation management, talent management, and more! In this role he / she will have the opportunity to impact and / or oversee various HR initiatives.

  • Some general office administration will also be required. What You’ll Do : HR Coordinator : Support the full-cycle recruitment process for all positions across Canada including job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checking, and offer negotiating;
  • Manage our HRIS tools including ATS, employee engagement and performance management; Administer and deliver new hire orientations;
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of employment laws and regulations, ensuring legal compliance and initiating policy changes / updates where required;
  • Work with IT and other HR personnel on onboarding and offboarding procedures; and Work on ad-hoc projects, reporting and other related duties as assigned Payroll Administration : Prepare payroll for hourly and salaried employees in Canada (BC, ON, QC) and related remittances on a timely and accurate basis using ADP PAY@WORK AND ADP Workforce Now;

Perform all other payroll responsibilities including various fillings and timesheet / attendance reports etc; and Administer employee group benefit plans including set-up new hires, employee record maintenance and status changes (extended health, dental, life, RRSP).

What You’ll Bring : Bachelor’s degree / diploma in Commerce, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field; Experience in a similar role dealing with multiple locations and provinces and familiar with legislation (i.

  • e. BC and ON); 3+ years of HR and Payroll experience ideally within the tech industry and / or manufacturing environment;
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize time / workload to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines; Ability to manage fast-changing business circumstances, thrive in a constantly changing business environment and handle multiple (and sometimes conflicting) deadlines;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, time management, and negotiation skills; Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of employees;
  • Strong attention to detail and work ethic - ability to be thorough in accomplishing a task with enthusiasm and concern for all areas involved, no matter how big or small;

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel and Teams High integrity and a real sense of ownership and accountability of responsibilities and projects.
