Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Ottawa, Ontario. In this role, you will handle high-volume invoice processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards. This position is ideal for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining efficient financial operations.Responsibilities:- Process and code invoices with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring compliance with internal policies.- Manage vendor accounts and reconcile discrepancies in a timely manner.- Utilize ERP systems to streamline payment processing and maintain financial records.- Handle payment processing tasks, including issuing checks and electronic fund transfers.- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice-related queries and discrepancies.- Maintain organized records of accounts payable transactions for auditing purposes.- Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly accounts payable reports.- Monitor and track outstanding payments, following up with vendors as needed.- Support the implementation of accounting software systems to enhance operational efficiency.- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement within the accounts payable function.- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field.- Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software such as Concur or ADP.- Strong understanding of account coding and invoice processing.- Experience with vendor management and payment reconciliation.- Ability to handle high-volume data entry with precision and efficiency.- Excellent organizational and time management skills.- Strong communication abilities to liaise with vendors and internal teams.- Familiarity with financial reporting and auditing processes.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
