What is the opportunity?As a Senior Trust Officer with RBC Royal Trust, you will play an integral role as part of a high performing regional team, where you’ll be responsible for managing a book of Trusts accounts which may vary in complexity.
You will create an exceptional client experience by providing superior client service through efficient, accurate and timely administration of a portfolio of accounts.
This includes making day-to-day decisions, assessing risk and adhering to policies and procedures.You will meet client needs and business unit objectives.
You’ll also enhance customer loyalty while leveraging full RBC Financial Group capabilities to ensure efficient administration of the Estate and Trust Services business.

- Build and maintain relationships with clients, beneficiaries and co-trustees. Accountable for ensuring effective administration of your account book.
- Create exceptional client experience by providing superior service and comprehensive fiduciary solutions that meet client needs / goals.
- Ensure client strategic objectives are known, reviewed and a documented client action plan is set up customized to the client’s unique situation
- Identify any referral opportunities to appropriate Professionals across the RBC network
- Develop and maintain strong working relationship within Royal Trust Services and with RBC partners, while demonstrating ability to balance needs of the client, employee and shareholder
- Proactively maintain timely written, verbal and electronic communication with clients and key internal partners and contacts
- Ensure the process for new business is efficient and seamless to the client and client’s professional advisor
- Demonstrate a commitment to taking ownership and accountability for efficient client problem resolution.
- Responsible for overall client relationship management and is the representative of the client portfolio
- Maintain awareness of opportunities to determine areas of operational risk or potential losses. Recommend and implement action plans to address and / or correct those issues identified.
- Assist in ensuring employees within team are able to achieve their potential through effective coaching, mentoring, communication and training and development activities to meet client needs.
Be part of a mentorship program to help employees discover and develop their career paths.
What do you need to succeed? Must-have
- A minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role
- Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course
- University Degree or equivalent
- Extensive knowledge and Ability to communicate with clients about general investment, estate, financial, trust, taxation issues including economic conditions
Nice-to-have
Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) or Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation or working towards

The expected salary range for this particular position is $65,000 - $85,000 depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
You have the potential to earn more through RBC’s robust discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
