Title : Community Engagement Coordinator

Salary : $63,036 $78,849 $86,734 per year (pay range explained below)

Contract : Permanent

Hours : 37.5 Hours, Monday Friday (core hours 9am 3pm)

Location : Tsawout-East Saanich, Vancouver Island Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy.

About the role

As Community Engagement Coordinator, you will support the Vancouver Island Regional Engagement Pathways established to inform participation, partnership and leadership of the Vancouver Island First Nations in health governance and health system transformation for the improved health and wellbeing of our people, families and communities.

  • The main responsibilities of the Coast Salish Community Engagement Coordinator include the following;
  • Coordinate Coast Salish Health Director Tables
  • Coordinate and provide logistical support to the sub-regional caucuses involving communities within the Coast Salish area.
  • Coordinate and provide logistical support to the Vancouver Island Regional Caucus
  • Participate in health engagement activities of the Regional Health Authority specific to the area or sub-region.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have / be

  • A University degree with specialization in Health Sciences, Education or Social Services or a related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training and professional experience
  • Relevant, recent and significant experience in the provision of coordination support to First Nation communities (usually acquired over a 3-5 year period), or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.

Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.

The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.

As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021.

We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
