In this role, you will :

• Own the FinOps data layer : Build and govern CUR / usage pipelines leveraging existing cost platforms, or home built tooling.
• Define schemas, SLAs, and FOCUS-aligned datasets; ensure 99%+ allocation coverage via tags / accounts.
• Establish showback / chargeback : Refine allocation models, publish monthly bills, resolve disputes, and drive accountability with budget vs. actuals and unit-economics KPIs.
• Forecast & plan : Deliver driver-based forecasts (product / BU), scenario models for roadmap changes, and monthly variance analyses for FP&A and engineering leaders.
• Optimize at scale : Create automation and playbooks (rightsizing, scheduling, storage tiering, egress patterns), partner with platform engineering team to refine opportunities, land changes, and track verified savings.
• Commitment strategy : Lead SP / RI / CUD planning and renewals, target coverage and utilization %, and negotiate commercial terms with vendors / procurement.
• Governance & guardrails : Define tagging standards, budgets / alerts, and policy-as-code controls; measure adherence and lead corrective actions.
• Anomaly response : Operate spend monitoring, triage spikes, run incident reviews, and prevent recurrences.
• Executive reporting : Build concise, role-based dashboards (engineer → exec) and a quarterly narrative of savings, risks, and investments.
• Program leadership : Set OKRs, run backlogging and ceremonies, mentor team members, and grow a community of practice aligned to the FinOps Framework (Inform / Optimize / Operate).
