Purpose of position :
The primary purpose of this position is to develop, maintain and / or revise M & E (Maintenance and Engineering) policies and procedures (including work practices) to ensure current industry and regulatory standards are met.
This position shall also establish any company minimum standards where none currently exist. On a periodic basis this position will carry out Quality Assurance oversight through surveillance audits.
Key Responsibilities :
- Responsible to conduct periodic surveillance of all : Jazz M & E documentation to ensure compliance to regulatory standards, Jazz Approved Training Organization (ATO) policies, procedures and documentation.
- Responsible to maintain, establish or develop Jazz Maintenance Standards within all M & E documentation in accordance with accepted industry, company and / or regulatory requirements
- Liaison with various Maintenance Managers for the development and revision of Maintenance Policies, Procedures, Forms and Work Practices.
- Liaison with Document Control and / or document owners to ensure requirements of the initial request / intention is met.
- Review documentation for correct use of the English language ensuring regulatory and legal information is clearly presented to mitigate possible misinterpretations by end users.
- Identify possible internal process short falls or opportunities for improvement (i.e., increased efficiencies) within M & E documents / publications.
- Liaison with stakeholders / aviation industry for research and source materials.
- Plan layout of work; arrange sequence of topics and placement of graphics to produce documentation that is logical, readable and easily understood.
- Responsible to stay current with CARs, EASA, FARs, and IOSA regulations and standards as required.
- Responsible to assist, establish, document, audit and revise as applicable, Jazz.
- Aircraft appearance standards.Maintenance Procedures Maintenance Work Practices Maintenance Policies Training Procedures / PoliciesParticipate as a key member of the new JazzNet administration function for Maintenance and Engineering.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
Qualifications :
- Aircraft Maintenance Diploma or equivalent.
- Transport Canada or equivalent Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License.
- 4 years aviation technical writer and / or aviation industry knowledge is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to use and edit Adobe products / formats.
- Audit Training / previous audit experience to a recognized standard. Quality measurement systems and techniques.
- Advanced level of experience working with large documents (i.e. regulatory and non-regulatory manuals), including formatting for consistency using features such as, styles, templates, form fields, etc.
- Superior writing, editing, and communication skills (attention for detail).
- High quality problem solving and analytical skills.
- Motivated team player, able to also work independently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Excellent time-management, communication, and organizational skills required.
- Must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, a positive attitude.
