Robert Half is searching for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a Public Accounting firm located in Ottawa. This is a full time / permanent position on site.

Responsibilities :

• Full cycle accounting;
• Prepare regular financial reports, income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flow for various clients
• Responsible for monthly and quarterly financial close process
• Prepare timely and accurate journal entries as required
• Preparation and review of working paper files and corporate tax provisions and returns
• Review general ledger accounts activities to ensure account accuracy of financial statements
• Prepare and review and HST returns, payroll remittances, bank reconciliations
• Preparation and review of Personal and Corporate Income Tax returns
• Develop and maintain new client relations
• Provide leadership and technical guidance on engagements
• Meet new clients and promote firm services; and support the management in various related activities.

Job Requirements : Qualifications :

• Post-secondary education in Accounting
• Pursuing an accounting designation (CPA)
• Minimum of five 3 years of related work experience
• Experience working with Small / Medium Public Accounting firm
• Good knowledge of Excel, Sage Simply Accounting, Quickbooks, Taxprep and Caseware
• Capable of managing demanding situations
• Capable of solving problems and using sound judgment
• Strong communication skills and ability to answer client questions
• Must be comfortable promoting firm services, working on and offsite with clients and signing new clients
• Quality and detail oriented and able to meet tight deadlines
• Excellent team player
