Job Description

Lead facilitation for a function, multiple sites or leadership programs, and / or act as a subject matter expert in a business / subject matter relevant to the Direct Investing business. Through a balance of delivery of prescribed content and facilitation of dialogue to enable content from learners, deliver complex facilitated learning solutions to broad audiences and large groups, both independently or as part of a group of facilitators.

Key Accountabilities

CUSTOMER

  • Facilitate timely, high quality consistent, creative, leading edge learning solutions through multiple delivery approaches that positively impact business and TD metrics
  • Proactively look for ways to enhance learner experience and engagement
  • Accountable for delivering the content, creating a safe space for learners to test new ideas, concepts and skills, while using adult learning experience to support learners to take ownership of their learning experience
  • Actively support greater use of virtual and other technologies to create greater efficiency and learner access, particularly to more geographically remote business groups
  • Demonstrate effective, polished and professional delivery and facilitation skills to audiences
  • Provide input, counsel and advice on the design and development of new and maintenance of existing programs in partnership with design / development, program evaluation and management, to ensure the end-user and facilitator perspective is reflected
  • Ensure business relevancy, 'make meaning' for learners and business representatives, ensure learner engagement and capability build by actively participating in the business environment and operations
  • Complete facilitation and coaching observations and action plans in partnership with delivery manager to ensure effectiveness of resources and to build capability development plans
  • Contribute to the end-to-end advancement of facilitator capability across TDBG through involvement in communities of practice, peer coaching, mentoring, and participation in Train-the-Trainer and up-skilling programs to support the development and advancement of the facilitation practice for the organization
  • Consult, inform and guide business leaders who may be part of program content delivery to ensure readiness, capability and comfort in the classroom environment

SHAREHOLDER

  • Complete all required scorecard and roster accountabilities in a timely way for people managers, to be able to assess their resource utilization and maintain a low level of time spent on administrative activities
  • Consistently demonstrate and exemplify best practices in the areas of facilitation and training delivery, including virtual delivery and is a role model and mentor for newer and more junior facilitators
  • Ensure consistent alignment to overall L&D maintenance strategy as it relates to facilitation
  • Work collaboratively with their people leader, Learning Business Partners and others within L&D, supporting the achievement of business and organizational objectives while exemplifying TD's brand and culture
  • Consistently demonstrate knowledge and practice of effective adult education principles - problem solving techniques, discussion leading, effective questioning and conflict resolution
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

  • BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Expert level professional role requiring in-depth knowledge / expertise in own domain / field of specialty conducting facilitation of organization-wide programs that may include senior levels of the organization
  • Lead delivery of more complex leadership programs at the business or enterprise level; move towards a balance of delivering prescribed content and facilitating dialogue to enable content through dialogue, discussion, challenge, debate, simulation, coaching and feedback
  • Integrate the broader organizational context into advice and solutions within own area
  • Understand the industry, competition and the factors that differentiate the organization
  • Apply best practices to implement process, product or service improvements
  • Act as a subject matter expert within their own area of specialty or a resource for others
  • Focus on medium to long-term non-routine, specialized / complex issues
  • Use advanced methods to contribute to new solutions and recommend standards against which others will operate
  • Impact a range of functional programs and operations across own and related teams
  • Typically reports to a Manager / Senior Manager
  • Experience & Education

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Wealth including Direct Investing experience.
  • People manager experience is an asset
  • Relevant Learning & Development certification is an asset
