The OWSS Program FTS Engineer opening is a current vacant position at General Dynamics Land Systems – Canada. The base salary hiring range for this position is $70,400 to $92,400 per year. Once in the role, successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress through the full salary range based on performance. This range reflects the base salary only and does not include additional components of our total compensation package, such as our incentive award program and other rewards like health benefits, employee profit-sharing, retirement savings, and more. Position Description :
- Participate in overall Wheeled Light Armoured Vehicle Software Management including :
- Configuration Management
- Participate in discussions relative to vehicle and TDP configuration management
- Software Integration Lab configurations
- Government database management (DRMIS)
- Implementation and Coordination
- Short and long term distribution and warehousing of software from GDLS to the Army
- Coordinate testing and uploading of software activities
- Coordinate deliveries and program schedule milestones related to software management (eg. Software version descriptions, etc.)
- Software issues identification and rectification activities
- Liaison
- Liaison between GDLS-C, Canada and other government agencies on issues, failure analysis, maintenance and solution development & implementation
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers
- Tracking & scheduling of software updates activities, including flashing of blank units
- Perform Senior technician function and field service representative activities
- Technical Authority for the Vehicle Test Set
- Initiate tasks to solve deficiencies and continually improve the product for the customer
- Ensure FTS compliance to government and GDLS regulations
Required Qualifications :
University degree in engineering, College diploma or equivalent / relevant military qualificationsMinimum 3-5 years relevant experienceCurrently possess or have the ability to acquire Secret Level II security clearanceDemonstrated ability to multi-task under pressureStrong oral, written, and presentation communication skillsExperience in MS Office applications, including Excel and PowerPointExcellent organizational skills, thorough, and detail-orientedSelf-motivated and effective in a multi-disciplinary team, including to facilitate discussionsAbility to travel (20%) and possess / be able to acquire and maintain a valid passportPreferred Qualifications :
Experience with software configuration managementExperience in Canadian Military database (DRMIS, RDIMs, etc.)Experience supporting projects or program experience or PMP designation or P.EngPrevious experience working with government contractsUnderstanding of GDLS-C Program processes and measurements
