Aplin has partnered with a leading organization to recruit a Senior Technical Design Engineer for their operations in Pickering, ON.
Role Details
- Title : Senior Technical Engineer (Design Engineering)
- Location : Pickering, Ontario – Hybrid (2 days remote)
- Duration : 9 months
- Hours : 35 hours / week
- Contract Type : Open to T4 Employees or Independent Contractors with Aplin
- $65 to $70 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
Lead or support engineering design changes, modifications, and upgrades within OPG ECC processPrepare, review, and approve technical documentationConduct field walkdowns, technical assessments, and support problem resolutionCollaborate with cross-functional teams : Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and VendorsMentor junior engineers and provide technical oversightSupport root cause analysis, corrective actionsParticipate in project meetings, design reviewsEnsure all work aligns with safety, quality, and OPG standardsQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Controls EngineeringLicensed P.Eng. in Ontario or eligible for PEO registrationOPG Design Engineer qualification requiredMinimum 5 years engineering experience in nuclear, power generation, or heavy industrial sectorsStrong technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExperience with OPG ECC process and engineering standardsProficient with relevant tools (AutoCAD, AssetSuite, calculation tools); excellent communication and interpersonal skillsExperience with OPG engineering standards, regulatory codes, and procedures is an assetProficiency with relevant engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, AssetSuite, engineering calculation tools)Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementAt Aplin — together with our brands CompuStaff and Impact Recruitment — we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
